Caterham Cars won’t be at Stoneleigh show this year as I found out when I popped down to their showroom on Wednesday. I live but three miles from their premises in Caterham Valley and I often call in to have a chat with sales director, Andy Noble, when I’m running a few errands in town. I also wanted to arrange a feature on a Seven for a future issue of tkc mag.

Now that the F1™ season has started I was keen to find out how the enquiry levels have risen thanks to the re-named CATERHAM F1 team’s TV exposure and according to Andy they have noticed a spike in calls and requests for general information on the range, while the local council will really get behind the fact that the two has an F1 team named after it!

For the record the company’s 2012 range comprises: Roadsport (from £19,495 in complete component form) powered by Ford Sigma 1.6 (125bhp and 140bhp) and Ford Duratec 2-litre (175bhp) engines moving onto the Supersport (Sigma 1.6-litre 140bhp) a slightly more hardcore driving experience priced from £20,995 and Superlight in R300 (2-litre Duratec 175bhp) at £27,995; R400 (2-litre Duratec 210bhp) at £32,495 and barnstorming R500  (2-litre Duratec 263bhp) at £41,995 guises with the R500 available fully built only.

If you fancy the slightly larger proportioned SV chassis, add £2200 and if you would like Caterham to build the car for you at their factory in Dartford, Kent add £3000.

Caterham also offer the CSR variant of the Seven theme with a 2.3-litre Duratec delivering 260bhp priced from £44,995 and again available fully built only from £44,995.

Finally, they also produce the SP/300.R trackday car from £81,000.
