FW SPECIAL EDITION WESTFIELD IS A CRACKER

The Sport model from Westfield Sports Cars may be the company’s entry-level model but with a Ford Zetec engine, it is no slouch, while it’s officially classed as the FW Special Edition, which denotes, the FW-style front and rear body sections specific to this model.

It’s certainly kitted out with an array of extras including wide-track wishbones, lowered floors and hand-stitched high-back Cobra seats, which Westfield reckon are typical of what the average customer always orders.

PEANUT BUTTER GOODNESS

A tiny artisan car care brand that I really like is Yeovil-based Immaculate Reflection and they make good, honest products, with a bit of novelty value but that actually punch above their weight and work superbly.

Take their Glorious Gloss Peanut Butter Smooth wax, which smells just like those old peanut crunch sweets we used to have as kids. Sure, it’s a real hoot and it even has the texture of peanut butter, too, but it’s a high-quality product that did crazy things to the surface of my Smart ForFour.

That car is always difficult to get looking great because not only More >

WOO-HOO DIY POWDERCOATING!

Powdercoating is one of the most economical, colour-durable and longest-lasting finishes available. Powdercoated surfaces are far more resistant to chipping, scratches, fading and wear than other finishes and the colour selection is virtually unlimited: high and low gloss, metallic and clear finishes are available.

Also, thanks to the UV resistance of many of the powders, colours stay bright and vibrant for longer. Texture selections range from smooth surfaces to a wrinkled or matte finish plus rough textures designed for hiding surface imperfections.

COOL NEW STUFF FOR ZETEC

Burton Power now has an intake manifold to enable a Weber 32/36 DGV/DGAV twin choke carburettor and also 38 DGAS/DGMS carbs to mate to a Ford Zetec E engine.

The manifold is ideal for fitting a more modern 1.8- or 2-litre Zetec E engine into a classic or period kitcar where the owner wants to retain the original style of a single downdraught carburettor.

It is also suitable for a number of racing classes where the Zetec E engine can be used only with a single downdraught carb.

The manifold bolts straight onto the engine with no modifications required. It is cast and More >

SMELLS GOOD ENOUGH TO DRINK – BUT DON’T! OUT IT ON YOUR CAR INSTEAD

I like the Sam’s Detailing brand and they make really good products that often smell amazing.

Here’s a great duo from them. Starting with their Liquid Wax, which has a totally and utterly glorious banana scent. I had one of those Frijj banana milkshakes (other brands are available! on the go when I cracked Sam’s Liquid Wax open and I kid you not, in my haste for a gulp of milkshake I almost downed a glug or two of the Liquid Wax, because it smelt so lovely. Best not try that at home, eh!

Anyway, smell aside, this product is a good More >

HAWK’S NEW COUPE TOPS THEIR RANGE

Everyone knows that Hawk Cars produce superb replicas of various Cobras and also a Lancia Stratos. The company’s MD, Gerry Hawkridge is well known for his high standards, eye for detail and encyclopaedic knowledge of classic sixties cars, particularly those of a Cobra and/or exotic slant.

He’s recently launched what can perhaps be regarded as his crowning glory, a Hawk Coupe replica that is period correct and accurate in every way. Just six of the Shelby Daytona Coupes were built for racing between 1964-65. The late Carroll Shelby giving his designer, Peter Brock the brief to design a GT car that More >
