VINTAGE YEAR FOR CATERHAM CARS

Caterham Cars has posted record sales figures for 2016, with over 600 Caterham Sevens sold in the last 12 months.

That figure is the highest 12-month sales result for Caterham since 1996. More than half (55 per cent) of cars were sold to UK customers, with 45 per cent exported overseas.

The increase in sales has been supported by further growth in Caterham’s UK dealer network, adding representatives in the Northwest, South West and centrally in the Midlands with the launch of a bespoke Caterham dealership, while expansion of the iconic manufacturer’s model range has also had a positive impact.

NICE ONE FROM MARLIN’S AVATAR DIVISION

Avatar Sports Cars, the track and race division of Marlin Sports Cars, of course displayed their new Roadster at last weekend’s Autosport International show and for me it was the star of the whole event. It was great to see them exhibiting there.

They are limiting the car to a run of fifty to ensure exclusivity and the very pretty two-seater is available with a choice of two Ford EcoBoost engines, the 2-litre delivering a not exactly shabby 250bhp and the top of the range 2.3-litre version producing 350bhp.

Weighing in at just 695kg we’re talking 360bhp per tonne and 500bhp per More >

POSSIBLE CHANGES TO UK MOTOR INSURANCE

After a recent ruling by the European Court of Justice, Heritage Car Insurance is warning drivers that they could see huge changes to motor insurance law, which will improve the way victims can claim compensation in a wider range of circumstances.

This review was prompted by a ruling by the European courts in 2014, which resulted in the Vnuk judgment, a case which has now sparked a review of the current motor insurance law and will have an impact in the UK regardless of the EU status.

The UK government is currently consulting on the potential amendments and Heritage is encouraging people to More >
