GOING DIGITAL

With many classic and kitcar car owners changing to digital speedometers, Mini Spares now offers a drive adaptor that allows pre-1980 MIni owners to convert their speedometers to digital.

The unit fits directly on to the gearbox in place of the standard cable and produces a digital signal for use with any electronic speedometer using a 12- or 5-volt square wave pulse such as the Mini Spares electronic speedo 13H4443.

Order as part number GSD1000 – this fits pre-1980 speedo drive pinions. Mini Spares also offer a similar drive for post-1980 Minis which can be ordered as GSD1001.

ACCURATE ANGLES

In the modern sportscar accurate angle measurement is becoming more and more important, with engine and suspension components needing to be set up and maintained using accurate angle measuring instruments. This new digital inclinometer from Laser Tools (part number 6657) is a digital angle gauge or digital protractor and offers exceptional accuracy (±0.2º).

The A15 has a robust and tough construction, a combination of rubber and aluminium and can be recharged easily and used cordless making it highly practical, too.

You can hang it using the integrated hook, place it at weird angles thanks to the on-board multi-angle mechanism, plus enjoy the anti-slip ‘comfort grip’ magnetic base and an AC adaptor for More >

IT’S A RAP!

The good old cable tie is very hard to beat. A multitude of uses makes it an essential item around the house, garage and toolbox. In addition to the usual stuff I’ve heard of some imaginative uses for the humble strip of plastic…

Several people have tried to reinvent it but most have failed because they never offered anything over and above what a cable tie could. However, the RAPSTRAP could be the future of such things.

If it sounds familiar, that could be due to it appearing on TV’s Dragons Den several years ago and gaining investment to boot.

The Rapstrap is More >
