Edelbrock’s 650cfm AVS2 carburettors now have a little brother. The 500cfm AVS2 carburettors are ideal for street rods, classic trucks, and other vehicles with stock or mildly upgraded small block V8s. Edelbrock also makes this pre-calibrated, especially for dual quad setups.

If you’ve got something a little gnarlier, the 650cfm AVS2 is for you, say Summit Racing. They are recommended for small and big block V8s with dual or single plane intake manifolds.

All AVS2 carburettors have many of the features of the Performer and first-gen AVS models – a two-piece, all-aluminium construction for cooler operating temperatures and less warping; no gaskets below the fuel bowl level for fewer leaks; easily changed metering rods for precise tuning, and no plastic parts or power valves to blow out.

What makes the AVS2 carburettors better are the annular flow primary boosters and revised calibration for improved off-idle and cruising performance. The down-leg primary boosters used on many street carburettor designs simply provide fuel down the centre of the venturi.

The annular boosters used on the AVS2 feature eight equally spaced smaller holes for better fuel atomisation. This eliminates flat spots when the carburettor transitions from idle to part throttle for better low RPM performance.

You may even see an improvement in fuel economy. This Edelbrock video shows you how the annular booster design works.

The Edelbrock AVS2 carburettors have timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. They are available with a manual or electric choke and your choice of satin or Endurashine finishes.
