When Carol presented me with a couple of brass saucepans she’d picked up for a song at a local charity shop, I was aghast.

She reckoned that because I had loads of car care stuff and metal polishes it would be easy for me to bring them up nicely and take them back to a glossy finish. They were in a terrible state, not only un-cared for but also dirty and caked in grease.

I tried a couple of my regular metal cleaning products and it didn’t look good. I figured I’d have to get the Dremel out but then I remembered the Collinite 850 Liquid Metal Wax that the UK distributors, Shipshape of Norfolk had sent me to try a few weeks back.

Well, I have to say I was amazed. I’m a fan of their Insulator wax and have been using that one for several years with great success, but this was the first time I’d tried their metal polish. It cut through the grime and gunk and as the images here show it brought the poor old saucepans up pretty well.

Carol was so pleased it earned me some all-important ‘er indoors garage points’!

Collinite 850 Metal Wax also cleans and protects chrome, aluminium, copper and stainless steel in one easy step and doesn’t contain nasty acids nor harsh alkali.

A 473ml bottle costs £20.96 and is available from www.shipshapenorfolkltd.co.uk or 01353 676 007 ENDS.
