For some time, there has not been a period-type 185/70R14 tyre available, although this situation was rectified recently by Pirelli’s re-introduction of their ‘V’ rated Cinturato CN36.

In 1968 low profile tyres were making their mark on the car market, and Pirelli was one of the first, with their Cinturato CN36.

What makes the 185/70VR14 CN36 so special is that it is a low profile alternative for an MGB and swathes of Alfa Romeo cars that originally fitted 165R14. Some people want to fit a wider tyre and the 185/70VR14 CN36 is wider, but constructed with a carcass that was developed to be fitted to light weight rear wheel drive cars of the late 1960s and 1970s to give precise, progressive handling. Plus, it looks cool.

Longstone Tyres can supply the 185/70VR14 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 at £118.80 inc VAT but including free carriage or fitting.
