I like stuff that is a bit different and outside the square and I’ve always been a fan of the underdog, which I guess all adds up to why I’ve been in love with kit and specialist cars all of my life!

I’m also very impressed with the work of Mike ‘Harri’ Harrison who creates stunning works of sculptural and functional art primarily out of steel, with all pieces constructed from combinations of recycled, re-used and new materials.

A favourite of Harri’s is to use automotive components in unexpected ways, which is why his stuff really strikes a chord with me. Many of these parts can have an inherent tactile quality and an aesthetic that is often missed as they are often concealed in places we don’t or can’t normally see.

Harri designs his pieces for both indoor and outdoor use and they range from subtle inscape light sculptures to heavy duty exterior fire baskets.

Each piece is unique and made to order.

I really like art although more usually of a French impressionist flavour it must be admitted, although I’m a fan of Harri’s work. He might well be getting a gig from me on a firepit/BBQ although he doesn’t know it – YET!
