Castle Combe’s vibrant 2016 show calendar is in full swing and the circuit has already played host to some of the country’s most-loved shows and race meetings, but there’s still plenty of action to come. The Classic, Kit Car and Retro Action day on Saturday June 25th promises to be a highlight and a must for anyone who likes their cars built when the Cold War was in full swing!

The place to be if you’re idea of heaven is the sound of barking downdraught carbs and screaming BDAs, the Classic, Kit Car and Retro Action Day will have something for everyone. Track time is still available for all retro, classic and kit cars for just £30 (£35 on the day), while those car clubs that book in advance will receive 10 free passes, which permit free entry for cars and drivers. They even qualify for significantly reduced track time slots, with selected ‘early bird’ 15-minute sessions costing a mere £20 when booked before Saturday May 28. Castle Combe is the ideal place for those owners seeking to flex their automotive muscles, so expect plenty of old school track action throughout the day!

Those seeking a more relaxed means of experiencing Castle Combe will no doubt be thrilled to learn that the Lunchtime Cruise returns once again. A popular feature in previous years, the cruise permits eligible vehicles (those that fall into the classic, retro and kit car category) to take to the track for a series of low speed laps, all of them completely free. The Bristol Vintage Bus Company will also be making a welcome return, their free tours of the beautiful Wiltshire countryside surrounding the track having become a firm fan favourite over the years.

Individuals not part of an established, pre-booked club but still wish to display their cars are in luck, as an extensive Cherished Parking has been set aside just for this purpose, while the equally significant show and shine arena will house some of the best prepared classics the UK can muster.

The show’s immense trade village and autojumble will make a welcome return for 2016, with dozens of traders covering every type of car imaginable having already signed up. The sheer variety of traders and the parts they bring along helps make the show what it is, and it’s no exaggeration to say that the Classic, Kit Car and Retro Action Day is by far the best place to find rare and hard to trace parts for older motors.

Proving that the very best classic, retro and kit vehicles really do grow old disgracefully, the Classic, Kit Car and Retro Action Day is one classic event with a difference. Rather than just having rows upon rows of lovingly cherished classics – here, owners and show-goers get to see them running and racing in anger! This is one show where tuning and modifying is admired alongside originality. Tickets are just £12 when booked in advance, rising to £15 when purchased on the gate.
