Euro Car Parts, official prime battery supplier to the RAC, has launched a new range of Lithium Ion motorcycle batteries by leading European distributor Landport (LP).

Sure to be very appealing to kitcar drivers with bike-engines powering their cars, the new range was originally developed for racing. The super-light LP Lithium Ion batteries weigh between 0.4kg and 1.5kg. This represents a massive weight saving over standard lead acid motorbike batteries, which generally weigh around 4-5kg but can be as heavy as 8.7kg.

Thanks to an innovative design, featuring four terminals instead of the usual two, just eight part numbers cover virtually every post-2004 bike engine on UK roads. They are also suitable for a wide range of leisure applications, such as quad bikes, jet skis, golf carts, garden machinery and of course, KITCARS.

Martin Gray, chief executive officer (CEO) of Euro Car Parts, said: “Given the amount bikers spend on carbon fibre parts, the ability to gain such a weight advantage from a battery is a big plus. Further still, because the Lithium Ion units are solid, with no risk of spills, they can be fitted in any position, even upside down. They will accept a faster charge too, so they’re a great all-round upgrade.”

Buy direct from Euro Car Parts, either via eurocarparts.com or in-store. The website features a nearest store finder and shoppers using the ‘Click & Collect’ service can pick up their parts at their local branch within 15-minutes of placing an order online.

Please note: Lithium batteries require special chargers. Fortunately, Euro Car Parts stocks these too, along with a huge range of other motorcycle parts and accessories.
