It’s hard to believe but the Triumph Spitfire is 50 years old. It was first launched at the 1962 London Motor Show and to celebrate Piper Cams now has a full range of cams and components for the Spitfire as part of their Classic Cams range, which is particularly pertinent given its recent renaissance as a donor for kitcar use.

Piper’s ‘mild road’ profile is suitable for restoration and will also improve performance slightly. For more performance there is the ‘fast road’ profile, along with an ‘ultimate road’ profile for modified cars running ported and polished heads and throttle bodies or multiple carbs. There is also a profile available for classic rally enthusiasts.

The new camshafts are available for 1147cc (Mks 1 & 2), 1296cc (Mks 3 & 4) and 1493cc (1500) Spitfire engines and Piper can also offer uprated spring sets for all these engines.

Cams are machined from new chill cast blanks and prices start at £198 each inc VAT, with re-profiled original cams from just £106.80 inc VAT.
