Faversham-based, Equinox Products are artisans of glassfibre making all manner of things out of the material, from garden ornaments to shop fronts in addition to bodies for Sports 2000 racing cars.

A recent addition to their line-up recently has been a 10-piece bodywork set to suit the Haynes Roadster, in one of nine standard RAL colours although a custom colour (as long as its one of the thousands of RAL hues) is available at a slight premium.

The complement the main body package Equinox has also produced a sculptured dash-panel, a boot box and an aero screen and all facets of the new body are available via an e-commerce area of their website.

Response from customers thus far has been overwhelmingly positive and a company spokesman doesn’t rule out further additions to the kit guided pretty much by public demand.

Equinox Products is a long established (over 30-years) Kent-based GRP moulding company with extensive experience in the racing world, particularly in Sports 2000 where they supply many of the cars on the grid.

They make all their own patterns in-house, and are often commissioned to provide the complete service of pattern work, mould making and production moulding, for many diverse projects, including some of the world’s most prestigious automotive companies.

Buoyed by the reaction to their range of Haynes Roadster components, Equinox has begun the design study for a new car loosely based as a Sports 2000 racecar for the road. The chassis will be available as build it yourself plans as well as turnkey and it will’ make use of a freely available, cheap and high performance donor that will have the whole industry asking why they didn’t think of that first’, according to the press release.
