CATERHAM, DARTFORD? NOW LEAFIELD…
Caterham Cars, now part of Tony Fernandes’ F1™ empire has announced that manufacturing of the iconic Seven will be moving to the former Arrows, TWR, Super Aguri HQ at Leafield, Oxfordshire…
When the late, Graham Nearn, took over manufacture of the Seven from Lotus in 1973, he based himself behind the petrol station facility that he owned in Town End, Caterham-on-the-Hill, Surrey, before production moved to a purpose built factory in Dartford, Kent in 1987.
The Seven and SP300.R will be made under the same roof as the operation’s GP2 cars, with the intention also to bring the F1™ and Caterham Technology and Innovation division under the same roof, from their current base in Hingham, Norfolk.
At present there are no plans to move the showroom from Caterham Valley or indeed Caterham Midlands’ in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire.
